Backspacing?!?!

Postby Lilmommajp6 on Fri Jun 04, 2010 12:46 pm

HI guys,
I need help asap! I'm trying to order my steel rims for my Jeep and don't know how to get the backspacing. I have 33x12.5 procomps and need rims for them. Please help. The more info the better.
Thankyou!

Looking at your avatar, I'm assuming that you have a TJ? Assuming that you have a 15" tire, I would go with a 15"x8" with 3.5-4" backspacing.

it should be ok. you'll definitely need an alignment though. when you lift the jeep, it pulls the drag link up and therefore the tie rod up as well, which effectively shortens it. the tires end up pointed at eachother. you can adjust the tie rod to point the tires straight again.

The body lift kit "should" have everything needed to do the lift. You'll get t-case shifter linkage bracket, steering shaft extension, gas filler tube extension, radiator relocation brackets, etc.. No alignment needed. You won't be touching the steering, except to install the extension, which goes on the shaft under the hood.

I installed a body lift in a TJ a couple weeks ago and truthfully I'd rather do a suspension lift. What a pain in the azz.

Yours could definitely go much easier then that one. It was on a 97 and every little part gave trouble. Another problem was it looked like the kid just went mudding before he dropped it off which didnt help.
