Friend of mine started his own machine shop thing. He drilled and tapped my d44 knuckles for hi-steer arms. hes got a bridgeport, a lathe, and a few welders. He can do anything. Located in monson MA

Would he be able to machine the DOM for steering out to a slightly larger ID like I mentioned I/we would need to get a proper 75% thread depth?
93 2 Dr XJ, ~3.5+", 33x12.50 ATs (street), 33x12.50 trxus MTs (street/trail), 34x10.50 LTBs (trail), 9"w/ detroit, D30 w/ truetrac, 4.88s
next: rock rails or boatsides, unibody stiffeners, HP44/9", SYE, 36"-37".

all you need is a lathe and a boring bar (or just the right size drill bit) to be able to do that, should be easy
96 XJ, 100K miles or so, 3" lift, 31s, skids, rock rails, ipf lights, etc...

problem is there is no 'correct size drill bit' :) I need somewhere right between two different sizes. If there was a proper drill bit I would have it already.

That must be what the boring bar is for.

shit man scott, i may even be able to do that. my (now old) boss from the machine shop at school is super chill and we could probably toss the DOM on a lathe and cut / bore / tap those bad larrys out in no time. how long are they?
