Heres a couple pics of parts I got.

Of course the coating I used on these was a waste of time and it all burnt off. Awesome.

Got the motor, heads, pistons and crank back from the machine shop. Painted them up and put the heads back together. Hopefully it will be all put back together as long as the front plate is in by Sat.

Well the new motors in and running good. It does need to run on a little better octane fuel which sucks with the prices of gas right now. I also need to finish a few things to make it a more drivable. I got to put in the front brakes, a drag link and few other small things. The headers are not on yet because I was waiting until after I get back from PA. I'll post some pics later.

Well its been over a year since I last posted here and the boards been alittle dead lately so I took a couple pics of me swapped D60s in the front of the Ford. I have some others I'll post later. I cleaned up the axle and it now gives the Ford: 4.10 gears, new oil, rotors, pads, calipers, axle joints, hubs with new grease and I had new u-bolts made. Now I'm gonna swap in the rear.

It would make for some nice steering in such a large truck.

Heres a pic of the D60 now under it. All new brakes, Timken bearings, axleshaft joint, u-bolts, added a Skyjacker steer. stab. along with now having 4.10s. I also drained the entire front brake fluid and replaced with new synthetic fluid. I already added all new steering & shocks last May so hopefully I'm all set with this end. Now I'm tossing in the new rear with all new dually brakes and running all new lines to the back. I've also abandoned the idea of an overdrive tranny and I'm just going to rebuild the C6 with a towing shift pak.

Tonight I did the most significant upgrade to date on this truck. For anyone who has been in or driven this truck it now has a stereo system. Luckily it was pre-wired under the dash so it now it has a radio, antennae and door speakers, but now it needs an armrest. I cant believe I went so long without it because that Sirious boombox wasnt cutting it.

I also noticed I forgot to update pics of the rear. I'll have to do that later. Anyway new axles work great towing and the new brakes help too. Next up are the floors and roof, after which a new C6 w/tow shift pak. Tomorrow I'm putting in new valve cover gaskets I made to hopefully stop the leaking or I'm selling the covers and going to something else.

Ha bump I'm in the same boat there.. I've had my cj for like 3 years and still haven't gotten around to put a damn stereo in it. Only luxury vehicles have radios... :flipoff2:

Well Mike, this truck is far from luxury but it does take long trips and alot of times I'm by myself.

So right now I'm waiting for the buggy to get back from the shop, I dont want to work on the 78' because it'll get too involved, the Comanche I dont want to touch just yet because I want to do it all at once, so I'm tackling stuff on Big Black. After installing the speakers recently I noticed how really bad the floors had continued to get so this afternoon I decided to rip the inside apart. I found alot more then I had expected but at least it'll all be gone now. I'm also going to fix the roof while I'm at it. Here are some pics, the roof ones dont really show how deep the dents are but there pretty good.

Yeah I've got used to it on the inside and its too hard to find a used crewcab with grey. If it were on the outside I would have sprayed it black myself.

Heres how much is gone so far. Once I pick up the pieces I need to reconstruct it, I'll take alittle more out.

Got most of the drivers side done today. Took alittle while to fix the kick panel, I had to cut a hole in the pan(cab bolt) and then I rebraced the back half of the rocker with 1 1/2x1 1/2x 1/8 steel. I had to make 2 more braces underneath and then the panels I cut could go on. I got alittle more to finish up but its a whole lot stronger now. Hopefully the weather stays good tomorrow and I'll finish up this side and the passengers. I also bought a Porta Power to help push the roof back into place and while it rained yesterday I set up my other welder, so now I have ARC, MIG, TIG, & Plasma cutter. I cant wait to use the cutter but I still need a couple fittings.

That didnt really work well considering it hid alot more then I thought. That mat was there for a year.

I got the pass. side pretty much done. A couple little pieces left. The welds didnt come out to bad considering the trouble I had with running out of wire, picked up new spool and forgot to check tank, so I ran out 10mins. in, got new tank and the new wire was burning like crap, started burning good for awhile and suddenly it wasn't coming out fast enough so I had to fix the feeder but its all welded now. Hopefully by Sat. the floor will be done as well as the roof. I've already taken out all the inner roof support, man what alot of small spot welds.

I've had this one for a couple years. I think it was the wire. It wasnt the normal stuff I use and it was sporadic at first weld wise then it just wouldnt feed but the feeder was working fine. I wont use this stuff again.

No I looked around for a clean low mileaged 7.3 because I didnt want a 6.0, its an 02'. I'd buy a Dodge before I bought a 6.0.
