Hey Joe I was just following you thru Palmer. Jeeps got some lean to it. I would've stopped by but Im on my way to N. Brookfield.

mars is the only rock surface planet with with an average surface temperature below the the melting point of mercury

i thought i was the only one that used mercury sinkers billy you paint yours with lead paint too

what planet are you fishing on where mercury is solid?

I prefer to use weights made of solid mercury.

In freshwater I've been using tungsten for years....lead ban has been in effect for some time now in NH and I fish there a lot. I'm a big fan of the 1/16 to 1/8oz tungsten bullet weights for texas rigging, they're way better than lead....just expensive if/when you lose them.

Oh yeah, I know all about the lead ban....you can still buy it though!! For the canal I usually use/lose 3-4oz lead jigs. I did throw a 1.25oz jighead with slug-go on it during slack tide.

The use of any lead fishing sinkers and lead jigs weighing less than 1 ounce is now prohibited in all Massachusetts inland waters (freshwater). Examples of prohibited tackle weighing less than 1 ounce include but are not limited to: split shot, bottom-bumping jigs, bullet weights, lead sinkers, or jigs which are painted, "skirted", or otherwise covered with rubber or other substance.
